The opening ceremony for the Uehiro Global Japanese Studies Fellowship was held

We are pleased to announce that we held an opening ceremony for two Uehiro Global Japanese Studies Fellows on July 1st, 2026.

The Uehiro Research Division for Global Japanese Studies invites early-career researchers from abroad to Nichibunken to acquire methodological expertise in Japanese studies through special lectures, fieldwork, and seminars.

A total of eight fellows are invited to Nichibunken for the academic year of 2026. On July 1st, the first group of two fellows arrived at the institute, where they will spend one month receiving academic support for their research.
